This position will be responsible for bank accounting operations to include: reconciliations, A/P, OTS and OCC reporting. Previous experience required in internal controls (SOX 404), FDICIA, FASB, GAAP, PeopleSoft G/L conversions, investment accounting, taxation and accounting policy. 10+ years experience required in banking and CPA preferred.
Job Summary: Develops and maintains product/business unit accounting policies, practices and standards to meet regulatory and management requirements. Directs the recording, consolidation, arrangement, reporting and preservation of all financial data. Provides accounting consultation, assistance and service to leadership and other internal customers.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Directs the accounting, preparation, analysis and required filing of all relative financial statements and related data and exhibits.
2. Directs the preparation, analysis and filing of financial statements and other reports for internal and external sources.
3. Reviews, advises, counsels and participates actively concerning new systems developments and other systems related matters to ensure accuracy of all financial data.
4. Manages special projects/assignments as directed by senior management.
5. Provides advise, counsel and assistance concerning accounting policies and practices.
6. Responds to applicable inquiries from State Insurance Departments, internal and external auditors and other regulatory agencies. Provides financial information to various Company offices to be used in the support of other filing, analysis and reporting requirements.
7. Directs the preparation of special reports, analysis and financials as requested by management and external agencies.
8. Represents officer/executive as assigned. May attend trade association meetings as Company representative.
9. Directs associate management including: performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organizational planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Requirements: Bachelors degree required; CPA strongly preferred. 10 years accounting experience with experience in the banking industry. Must have strong GAAP and STAT accounting background.
Responsibilities
Complete support of process instruments products, field repairs and assisting all associated departments.
Assure complete customer satisfaction and department profitability, including making travel arrangements for local and international field service visits. Willing to travel 75%.
Telephone support in the areas of quoting instrument retrofits complete with instructions, quote repair cost to customers and provide customer calibration/troubleshooting assistance. Process spare parts orders and construction of service test fixtures. Provide customer product training and perform other duties as required.
Must be capable of troubleshooting analog, digital, and microprocessor electronics and vacuum systems. Must be familiar with the use of required test equipment including DVM, oscilloscope, soldering iron and associated wiring/mechanical tools.
A.S. degree in electronics, equivalent military training, or prior work experience with a solid understanding of electronics (with a minimum high school education or equivalent certificate).
Must be capable of handling tools and material as heavy as 75 pounds. Must be capable of performing job duties outdoors requiring exposure to weather conditions. Must be available and capable to travel by air, land and sea using commercial means of transportation. Required climbing heights of 250 feet. The job has restrictions regarding facial hair for safety reasons. Due to participation with third party health and safety organizations, all service colleagues are required to register with partnering organizations to facilitate servicing their customers.
