Common Development Activities:
Review existing design concepts to determine hardware/firmware functionality and timing requirements.
Develop hardware/firmware design and test documentation.
Work with mechanical department to create/update article and system drawings.
Participate in customer related review preparation and presentation activities.
Work with production department or other on fabrication/test issues.
Hardware Specific Development Activities:
Design hardware to meet functional and timing requirements.
Prototype circuits to determine feasibility/operability.
Provide schematic and layout/route guidance to team.
Firmware Specific Development Activities:
Design and code firmware to meet functional and timing requirements.
Develop simulation models to verify firmware functionality.
Test firmware application utilizing hardware prototype.
Integrate firmware prototype design into system.
Team Related Activities:
Develop, review, and suggest common development tools and intellectual property that would make the team operate more efficiently.
REQUIREMENTS Required Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Prior digital development experience using FPGAs/EPLDs. Prior experience utilizing either Altera's Quartus or Xilinx's ISE FPGA development tools.
Experience with various digital logic ICs and programmable logic architectures (PAL, EPLD, FPGA, etc.).
Background in digital board design, test, and integration experience.
DSP and RF system experience a plus.
Education Required: BSEE/BSCE, plus 2 years experience in digital board or FPGA design, test, and integration.
Must be able to receive US DoD Secret Clearance. Existing clearance a plus.
