Position Overview: A local electronic manufacturer is seeking a Director of Operations to lead operations as growth in size, product line and product diversity occurs. This position will be responsible for developing strategies to improve manufacturing processes and customer deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures operations meet the business needs of the group as they relate to capabilities, processes, technologies, and capacity. Drive continuous improvement activities.
Develop and maintain detailed plans to achieve goals, including: revenue, product gross margins, operating budgets, first-pass yields, on-time delivery, employee safety, product quality and customer satisfaction. In addition, monitor applied labor, BOM, scrap, rework, and yield for each product to develop customer quotes. Ensure metrics are in place to monitor performance and take appropriate corrective actions.
Develop and maintain an effective operations organization through the selection, training, development, compensation and motivation of all personnel assigned to the operations organization.
Support proposal and research & development efforts resulting from approved strategic and operational plans.
Comply with laws, company policy/procedures including EOE, Affirmative Action, Business Ethics, EPA, OSHA and other to uphold high ethical business standards.
Required Skils:
BS in Engineering, BSEE preferred, accompanied with 15 years experience in complex electronics manufacturing for the Satellite/Defense markets and
5 years of directing operations of Space and Defense manufacturing.
Candidates should also have a solid understanding of manual and automated assembly processes.
Proven PM skills.
Extensive experience in designing and evaluating, implementing, and improving production control systems and automated control systems.
Understanding of risk management tools and ability to develop and execute mitigation plans as they related to production issues.
