Position Overview:
Our client, a 30+ year worldwide leader in networking, voice, cabling and data center technology, is seeking a Director of Strategic Marketing. This Syracuse, NY based company is privately-held, ISO 9001 certified, and has won numerous local and national recognition for business excellence and best practices in the workplace.
 

Key Responsibilities:
 

The Director of Strategic Marketing will be a key part of the companys Leadership Team and will report directly to the COO. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading overall company growth by developing, initiating, and implementing a strong marketing strategy for all product lines. Will be ultimately responsible for:

  • Driving all marketing objectives across several cross-functional teams.
  • Market analysis and research; identification of key customer needs and subsequent product line support programs.
  • Strategy development to increase profitability with existing product lines.
  • Supervision, training and development of all internal marketing professionals.
  • Collaboration with outside agencies, freelancers and marketing consultants.
  • Positioning company on web, within industry publications, as well as creation of all corporate collateral and trade show coordination/participation.
  • Creation of all customer support initiatives and programs.
  • Acting as company liaison to the community and media.
  • Leading and directing all marketing initiatives, special campaigns, and programs as coordinated with other members of Leadership Team.
  • Gaining the respect and commitment of all team members across all organizational levels and functions.

Required Background: 

  • The position requires 7+ solid years experience in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications, with direct technology-based product line experience.
  • Candidates with 3+ years director-level or senior role will be given greater consideration.
  • A related Bachelors degree required, MBA preferred.
  • Candidate should have strong ability to manage teams and oversee different working groups, as well as multi-task on complex projects.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills are a must: candidate should have experience and finesse in communicating with executives and senior leaders.
